El sweater de la abuela

 

Como me gustan los colores de otoño...amarillo, naranja, marrón, verde...y más si es un día de sol. Salimos a caminar por el parque de forest (el que queda muy cerquita de mi casa)y que mejor que un sweater bien abrigado, ese que llamamos el de la abuela. El mío lo encontré en uno de los negocios de segunda mano acá en Bruselas (Retro Paradise), me enamoré cuando lo ví y no paro de cansarme de usarlo. Lo combiné con mis jeans de H&M, abrigo de Sessún (que lo uso mucho tipo capa) y las botitas vintage que compré en Berlín hace ya algunos años. 


I really like fall colours!...Yellow, orange, brown, green ... and even better if it's a sunny day like last Saturday. We went for a walk in the park of forest (which is very close to my home) and what better than being wearing a warm sweater, like the one we call "granny sweater". I found mine in one of Brussels' second hand shops (Retro Paradise), I fell in love when I saw it and I can't stop wearing it. I combined it with my jeans from H&M, coat Sessún (I like to wear it as a cape) and vintage boots that I bought in Berlin some years ago.

Denim & Cherries in Vienna

 

Fue la primera vez que visitaba Viena, me tocó ir por trabajo y aproveché el fin de semana para conocer esta ciudad imponente. Me impresionó los edificios magníficos, donde se podía sentir la época  en la que el imperio austro-húngaro reinaba en Europa. Para destacar el museo de historia del arte con una colección de Brueghel, Velázquez, Rubens, entre otros y un edificio majestuoso - imperdible tomar un café debajo de la cúpula. No me esperaba que hiciera tanto frío pero por suerte mi poncho me ayudó.  Combiné mi vestido de jean que compré en Penneys (Primark en Irlanda)con mi sweater de cerezas de Danity TU. Qué piensan de las frutas en la ropa? Para terminar las medias de H&M, los zapatos de Topshop y la cartera/mochila de Isabelle Bajart.

It was my first time in Vienna, I had to go because of work and I profit to spend the weekend and discover this imperial city. I was impressed by the magnificent buildings, where you can feel the time when the Austro-Hungarian Empire reigned in Europe. To highlight is the Art History Museum with a collection of Brueghel, Velazquez, Rubens, among others, and an amazing building - you should have a  coffee under the dome. I didn't expect such a chilly weather but luckily I had my poncho. I combined my denim dress I bought at Penneys (Primark in Ireland) with my cherries' sweater from Danity TU. What do you think about fruits on clothing? Finally tights H&M, Topshop shoes and bag/backpack Isabelle Bajart.

Descubriendo Córdoba, España

Hace unos días tuve la oportunidad de conocer una preciosa ciudad del sur de España, Córdoba (no confundir con la de Argentina). Me encantó porque paseando por sus estrechas calles puedes respirar la historia de muchos siglos. Disfruté del rico salmorejo cordobés todos los días y dormí en una increíble casa con patio que tan famosas son en la ciudad. Para mostraros bien el look que llevé para un día deintenso turismo, os enseño fotos de diferentes momentos del día. Estrené mis nuevos monkstrap o zapatos con hebilla de los que me enamoré perdidamente en Topshop, mis jeans color cereza de Penneys y mi jersey negro de cuello cisne de Mango, un básico en la mayoría de mis outfits. Si nunca habéis estado en Córdoba, no tardéis en reservar un finde.

A few days ago I had the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful town in southern Spain: Córdoba (not to be confused with that one in Argentina). I loved it because while walking through its narrow streets you can see the history of many centuries. I enjoyed every day the delicious Cordovan gazpacho and slept in an amazing house with a yard that are so famous in this town. To show either the look I wore for an intense tourism day, I show pictures of different moments of the day. I wore for the first time my new monkstrap or buckle shoes which I fell madly in love with in Topshop, my cherry-jeans from Penneys and my black turtleneck sweater from Mango, a staple in most of my outfits. If you've never been to Cordoba, don't take so long to book a weekend there.

En Toledo visitando a El Greco

La semana pasada me escapé a España y no me quise perder la exposición que la ciudad de Toledo le ha dedicado a El Greco con motivo de los 400 años de su muerte. Aunque el sol brillaba, el invierno ya apretaba en esta bonita ciudad del centro de España y nada mejor que las superposiciones que tanto adoro. Camisa jean vintage, jersey-vestido de H&M, bufanda multicolor de Adolfo Domínguez para dar vida al negro del abrigo y los leggings. Y para caminar en un día de turismo nada mejor que mis adorados botines que compré en Topshop cuando estuve en Dublín. Creo que se van a convertir en mi prenda fetiche de esta temporada.



Last week I travelled to Spain and I couldn't miss the chance to visit the exposition that Toledo has devoted to El Greco on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of his death. Although the sun was shining, the winter already arrived to this pretty town in the centre of Spain and nothing better to explore the city than an outfit with overlays. A vintage jean shirt, a long jersey from H&M,a beautiful colourful scarf by Adolfo Domínguez to give a little bit of light to the black coat and leggings. For walking in a day of sightseeing, nothing like my beloved boots I bought in Topshop in Dublin. I think it is going to become my favorite accessory this season.

Snowflake & Parka

Sábado de sol en Bruselas y decidimos dar una vuelta por el barrio. Como arrancaron los fríos nada mejor que una buena campera con capucha, tipo parka, la mía es de Zara de hace ya algunos años. Como va con todo y es súper abrigada seguirá estando en mi placard (espero) por muchas temporadas más. El sweater estilo navideño es de TopShop y todos los años sacan algunos modelos, este por ejemplo es de ahora. A mi me encantan! Es una de las pocas cosas que me gusta de pasar las navidades bajo cero. Las botas abiertas son de Mauro Leone y las medias con moño de H&M.

Sunny Saturday in Brussels and we decided to go for a walk around our neighborhood. As chilly weather has started nothing better that a nice parka with hood. Mine is Zara from a couple of years ago. As it goes with everything and is very warm, I hope it will keep on being inside my wardrobe for some more seasons. The Christmas sweater is from TopShop and every year they have new models. This one for example is from this season. I love them! It´s one of the few things that I like of spending Xmas under zero degrees. The open boots are Mauro Leone and the socks H&M.

Ripped Jeans & Hat at Dun Laoghaire

Inma ya les contó que estuvimos en Dublín visitando a una amiga y fue ella las que nos llevó a visitar este lugar tan lindo. Se llama Dun Laoghaire, está un poquito alejado de la ciudad pero vale la pena caminar por la costa, comer en un mercado que se hace todos los fin de semanas o tomarse un café o chocolate caliente para sobrevivir al viento y frío. No me pude resistir de entrar a TopShop el día anterior, y comprar estos jeans rotos y zapatos tipo mocasines. Las medias también son de TopShop, mis preferidas!, como las que usaba cuando era chica y tenía una fiesta de cumpleaños. El tapado es de Sessùn y el sombrero de H&M. Qué les parece? 

Inma has already told you that we have been visiting a friend in Dublin. It was her to take us to this gorgeous place outside of the city, in Dun Laoghaire. It is very nice to walk along the coast, have lunch at the market that takes place every weekend or just have a cup of coffee or hot chocolate to 'survive' the wind and cold. I couldn't resist buying the day before these pair of ripped jeans and lace up shoes at TopShop. Lace trim socks are also from TopShop, they are my favourites as they remind me to the ones I used to wear at birthday parties when I was a kid. The coat is Sessùn and the hat is H&M.Do you like the look?

Fall (in love) in Dublin

Si seguís nuestras aventuras en Instagram, sabréis que este fin de semana nos fuimos hasta Dublín para visitar a nuestra querida amiga Raqui. Nos encantó la capital irlandesa, tan llena de cultura, de un ambiente alternativo que no tiene nada que envidiar a otras ciudades europeas, con sus calles empendradas, sus edificios históricos, sus pequeños y deliciosos restaurantes. Una ciudad donde perderse y encontrarse. Me gustó especialmente St. Stephen's green park, un bonito parque en el centro de la ciudad donde el otoño había creado una alfombra de hojas secas y teñido todo de hermosos colores. Y para un día de turismo sin parar nada mejor que un look comodo: mis adoradas leggings de Zara, camisa tartán, sudadera joya y botines negros de piel que he ido comprado en tiendas vintage. Os deseo un feliz fin de semana y os recomiendo que visitéis Dublín!

 

 

If you follow our adventures on Instagram, you should know that this weekend we went to Dublin to visit our dear friend Raqui. We loved the Irish capital, which was so full of culture. It's a very alternative environment which has nothing to envy to other European cities, with their empendradas streets, historic buildings and its small and excellent restaurants. A city where get lost and found. I especially liked St. Stephen's Green Park, a beautiful park in the center of the town where the fall had created a carpet of dry leaves and painting everything with beautiful colors.For a day of nonstop touring nothing better than a comfortable look: my beloved Zara leggings, plaid shirt, jewel sweatshirt and leather black boots that I have been bought at vintage stores. I wish you a happy weekend and I recommend you visit Dublin!

Wedding [First Round]

Fue bastante difícil poder hacer una selección de las fotos de mi boda civil. Quería mostrarles los detalles de lo que elegí para ponerme en ese día tan especial y poder compartir algunos de los momentos de lo que viví ese día. 

La verdad que elegir este look fue un largo proceso en el cual Inma me acompañó, fueron varios días, fines de semanas, meses. Al principio sólo había comprado la falda durante los sales en COS. Me gustaba esa idea de volumen y la tela especial. Pero la verdad que el color amarillo hizo que elegir todo el resto fuese súper difícil y largo. Por suerte una noche cuando estaba en casa, pensé que podía tener en mi placard, y encontré ese camisón de seda que usé mi abuela cuando se casó y que yo había guardado desde ya varios años (cuando lo encontré en el placard de mi mamá). Me lo probé y pensé es perfecto! Solo tuve que acortarlo porque era hasta los pies. Después busqué el cinturón que encontré en mi tienda preferida de second-hand Isabelle Bajart y su encargado me recomendó que me ponga debajo de la falda un enagua. Y lo encontré tan sólo a la "vuelta de la esquina" (literalmente en el negocio de al lado Gabriele Vintage). Todavía me faltaban los zapatos y que mejor que usar esos que "solo me puse una vez" (quizás recuerden nuestro shooting blanco&negro, son de Zara copia del modelo Rockstud de Valentino.

Por último los accesorios: pulsera de plata, collar de oro con turmalina rosa de la diseñadora de joyas Belga Céline d'Aoust-miren su colección porque es espectacular!, mi anillo de compromiso de L Square, foulard de Nina Bohême y el ramo elegido por Nicholas la misma mañana en el mercado de nuestro barrio, St.Gilles.

It was quite difficult to make a selection of the pictures of my civil wedding. I wanted to show you the details of my outfit on that special day and share with you some of the highlights.

Choosing this look was a long process which took several days, weekend and months counting on Inma's help. At first, I had only bought the skirt in COS during the sales. I liked the idea of the volume and the special fabric. But the fact that it was yellow made more difficult to choose the rest of the outfit. Luckily one night when I was at home, I started to think about what I had in my closet, and I found a silk nightgown which my grandmother was wearing when she got married and which I had been saving from several years. I tried it and it was perfect! I just had to shorten it because it was too long. Then I looked for the belt and I found it at my favorite second-hand shop Isabelle Bajart. The manager of this amazing shop recommended that I should put a petticoat under the skirt. And I found it just "around the corner" (in the shop called Gabriele Vintage). I still didn't have the shoes and the best was to use those that "I just wore a time" (perhaps you remember our black & white shooting, the shoes are a Zara copy of the Rockstud de Valentino model).

Finally, the accessories: silver bracelet, gold necklace with pink tourmaline by the Belgian jewelry designer Céline d'Aoust -look at the collection because it is spectacular!-, my engagement ring L Square, Nina Bohême's foulard and bouquet chosen by Nicholas the morning at the St.Gilles' market, in our neighborhood.
