Shining summer

A pesar de que este verano ha sido un tanto atípico porque ha sido más fresquito de lo normal, el sol ha brillado con fuerza en toda Europa (salvo en Bruselas, claro está). Además de en Portugal, pasé parte de mis vacaciones en El Rompido (Huelva), un pueblecito costero con mucho encanto al que suelo ir cada verano últimamente. Para tomar el aperitivo en un día tan caluroso, elegí este vestido blanco de Adolfo Domínguez que me encanta porque es muy fresquito. Las sandalias plata son de Zara (la mejor compra de este verano), anillo de Tous  y las gafas de Victorio y Lucchino. La semana que viene os seguiré mostrando más looks de mis vacaciones. Mientras tanto, disfrutad del fin de semana!

Although this summer has been somewhat unusual because it has been cooler, the sun shone strongly in Europe (well not in Brussels, of course). In addition to Portugal, I spent part of my vacation in El Rompido (Huelva), a very charming coastal village that I usually go every summer in the last years. For an aperitif, I chose this little white dress from Adolfo Dominguez which I love because it is very cool. The silver sandals are from Zara (the best thing I bought this summer), ring from Tous and the sunnies from Victorio y Lucchino. The coming week I will keep on showing you more outfits from my holidays. Meanwhile, enjoy the weekend!

Zambujeira do Mar

Vuelta a Bruselas después de tres apasionantes semanas en España y Portugal, que habéis podido seguir en mi cuenta de Instagram. En Portugal visité el Algarve y el Alentejo. En estas fotos me veis perdiendome por las callejuelas de Zambujeira do mar, un pueblo precioso de la costa vicentina. El sol y el viento de esta zona convierten a este pueblito es un lugar ideal para los amantes del surf. Para este día "todoterreno", elegí un outfit muy cómodo y de telas ligeras, como esta camisa de lunares de la nueva temporada de New Look y estos pantalones que compré hace unos años en París. Y lo complementos más cómodos para el verano: mis Havainas y mi bolso de Mark and Spencer!

Back to Brussels after three exciting weeks in Spain and Portugal, which you have been able to follow on my Instagram account. In Portugal I visited the Algarve and the Alentejo. In these pictures you see me walking around the streets of Zambujeira do Mar, a beautiful coastal town. The sun and wind in this area makes this small town the most ideal place for windsurfers. For this day, I chose a very comfortable outfit because of the lightweight fabrics, like this polka-dot shirt of New Look and these pants I bought a few years ago in Paris. And the most comfortable accessories for summer: my Havainas and my bag from Mark and Spencer!

Hat & Dress in Ajaccio

Hola a todos, como les había dicho en el anterior post, esta vez les muestro un poco de Ajaccio y otro look muy de verano. Después de un día de playa en Porticcio cruzamos en barco para visitar Ajaccio, la capital de Córcega. La ciudad me hizo acordar mucho a Génova, Italia (dónde viví por más de un año); calles angostas, un  poco de suciedad, los edificios pintados de colores amarillos y rosas y las persianas verdes y el puerto. Un lugar para súper recomendar es U Papacionu, donde se come una pizza increíble!

El vestido es de UrbanOutfitters, me encanta ese tejido con flores! A ustedes? El sombrero fue regalo de mi novio en uno de sus viajes a Italia; es de una tienda de Palermo que hace sombreros a mano desde el año 1908 (Berrettificio Siciliano). Lo adoro! Los anteojos y las zapas blancas (perfectas para la playa ya que no uso ojotas/chanclas) son de H&M.

Buen fin de semana y la próxima semana Inma nos mostrará un poco de sus vacaciones en el sur de España! Meme

Hi everyone, as I told you in the last post, this time I will show you Ajaccio and another summer look. After a full day in Porticcio beach, we crossed by boat to the capital of Corsica, Ajaccio. The city reminds me a lot to Genoa (where I lived for more than a year); the small and dirty streets, the colorful buildings with rose and yellow paintings and green blinds and the port. If you visit it, I can recommend one of the best pizzas places I’ve ever been: U Papacionu.

My dress is from UrbanOutfitters, I love that fabric with flowers! Do you? The hat is a very special present that my boyfriend gave me a couple of years ago. He bought it in Palermo, Italy in a shop that hand-made hats since 1908. (Berrettificio Siciliano. The sunnies and shoes (perfecto for the beach as I don’t wear flip-flops) are from H&M.

Summer dress in Corsica

Como les adelante la semana pasada y para los que nos siguen en Instagram, estuve de vacaciones en Córcega. Por primera vez visite esta isla tan particular, donde se puede escuchar hablar en Corso (dialecto con mezcla de francés e italiano) y donde las playas y las montañas son las grandes protagonistas.

La verdad que mis días allá no pudieron ser mejores; playas,  aperitivos mirando el atardecer, navegar por el mar mediterráneo, comiendo quesos y jamón corsos y para terminar, la visita al pueblo San Gavino de Carbini en las montañas para celebrar mi futura boda. Si, para los que no aún no lo sabían me caso oficialmente en un mes (y en marzo es la gran celebración en Buenos Aires).

Para el mini festejo, pensé en ponerme algo especial pero también estar cómoda. Este vestido de la diseñadora rusa Vika Gazinskaya, que formó parte de la colaboración que hizo para & Other Stories, fue  la mejor opción que pude haber hecho! Fue el perfecto vestido para una noche de calor y de fiesta. Las sandalias blancas que llevaba son de UrbanOutfitters.

En el próximo post les voy a mostrar la ciudad de Ajaccio y otro vestido muy de verano también.

Meme

As I mentioned last week, I was on holidays in Corsica. It was my first visit to this very special island, where one can hear people speaking Corsican (a dialect mixing Italian and French) and where the beaches and the mountains play a starring role. 

The truth is that my days there could not have been better; beach, apperitives watching the sunset, sailing on the Mediterranean, eating Corsican cheeses and hams and, at the end, a trip up to the mountain village San Gavino di Carbini to celebrate my upcoming wedding. For those that don’t know, I am getting married legally in one month (while the church wedding is next year in Buenos Aires).  

For the mini-celebration, I wanted to wear something that is special but also comfortable. This dress is by the Russian designer Vika Gazinskaya's Co-Lab collection of ready-to-wear for & Other Stories. It was the best choice I could make! It was the perfect dress for a party on a hot night. The white sandals are from Urban Outfitters.

In the next post I will show you the Corsican city, Ajaccio, and another summery dress I have with me in Corsica.

Sailing mood in Antwerp

Seguimos disfrutando del verano y esta vez fuimos para Anveres (una de mis ciudades preferidas en Bélgica). Llena de estilo arquitectónico, de diseño y sobre todo de moda. Aprovechando las rebajas, caminé por calles como Meir, Nationalestraat (marcas como Yamamoto y Dries Van Noten y el museo de la moda) y negocios como Verso (mini concept store) y RA13 (mezcla de galería de arte que también está en París). Por primera vez, alquilé una bici y recorrí la zona donde antes estaba el puerto pero que ahora esta llena de museos, condominios y bares. Vale la pena tomarse algo en algunos de los bares que dan al rio Scheldt o en el barco hecho barco justo enfrente del museo MAS (fotos). Un must para visitar es su terraza en el último piso!

We continue to enjoy the summer and this time we went to Antwerp (one of my favorite cities in Belgium). Full of style: architectural, design and in particular fashion. Taking advantage of the sales, I walked streets such as Meir, Nationalestraat (with brands like Yamamoto, Dries Van Noten and the fashion museum) and Verso (mini concept store) and RA13 (mixture of art gallery which is also in Paris). For the first time, I rented a bike and toured the area that used to be the port but is now a zone of museums, pop-up bars and condos. Worth sitting in one of the bars looking onto the Scheldt river, created in what used to be the port’s hangers, or in the boat-cum-bar opposite the MAS museum (photos). Visiting the rooftop terrace at the MAS is also a must!
