 Esta entrada era inevitable. Por más que hemos tratado de obviar todo el tema de las instituciones europeas para no caer en el tópico, Bruselas es mundialmente famosa por ser el Washington de Europa, donde la política de más alto nivel toma decisiones que tendrán impacto sobre 500 millones de ciudadanos europeos. El Parlamento Europeo está en la Plaza de Luxemburgo, un lugar que se pone especialmente animado los jueves... la gente de Bruselas sabe de lo que hablo!

This post was inevitable. As much as we tried to ignore the issue of the European institutions to avoid falling into the topic, Brussels is worldwide famous as the Washington of Europe, where politicias take decisions that will impact about 500 million European citizens . The European Parliament is in Place du Luxembourg, a place which is particularly lively at Thursday ... people in Brussels know what I mean!

Rotterdam es la ciudad de las formas imposibles, de la arquitectura máxima que desafía a las leyes de la gravedad. Las casas cubo son un conjunto de casas innovadoras diseñadas por el arquitecto Piet Blom en 1984, quien giró 45º el cubo convencional de una casa y lo emplazó sobre pilares con forma hexagonal. El puente Erasmus, la torre Euromast de más de 180 metros de altura, los bancos en forma de Lego de Mauritplaats,... Pero no todo es arquitectura, sino también moda. Conocimos a la simpática Gypsy Mitz, propietaria de una bonita tienda de ropa vintage. Además, es la mente creativa que diseña la joyas Sweet-Rebels. No os la perdáis! 

Rotterdam is the city of impossible shapes, where architecture defies laws of gravity. The cube houses are a set of innovative houses designed by architect Piet Blom in 1984, who tilted the cube of a conventional house 45 degrees, and rested it upon a hexagon-shaped pylon. Erasmus Bridge, the over 180 meters high tour-Euromast, Lego-shaped banks in Mauritplaats, ... Nevertheless, everything is not architecture, but also fashion. We met there the charming Gypsy Mitz, owner of a nice vintage clothing store. She is also the creative mind that designs the jewellery Sweet-Rebels. Do not miss it!

Daisies and reflections in Rotterdam

Parece que el verano llegó a Holanda al mismo tiempo que nosotros desembarcamos en la estación central de Rotterdam, un maravilloso edificio reformado en 2007. La relación de la ciudad con el agua es muy particular, al albergar no solo el mayor puerto de Europa sino también numerosos canales que salpican toda la ciudad, como si de una pequeña Venecia se tratara. Una ciudad magnífica.

It seems summer arrived to Holland at the same time we took off the train in the amazing Rotterdam Centraal railway station, a wonderful building refurbished in 2007. The relationship between this city and the water is very special, because it's not only the biggest port in Europe but also there are several channels around the towns that looks like a little Venice. A fascinating place.
