How to be a londoner. A cool Londoner. At least for the next Spring-Summer.

Come essere una Londoner (cool). Almeno la prossima primavera-estate. By Maddi Massone.

Da sapere:

BIG TREND Anni ’90.

Nelle ballerine. Come una bambina di 4 anni? Esattamente così. O come Sara Jessica Parker in Sex And the City. Così Fashion Icon. Così ‘90.

Good to know

TOP TREND: 90’s. If you were a teenager in 1994 you can be it again. And you can still be in love with Damon Albarn. Please, only remember to pull out of the closet your oversize flannel shirts and your Doc Marten’s. Scared? You’re right.

CROP TOP: New season’s top is short. Very short. That means only a thing: please, reconsider right now the lenght of every shirt, t-shirt, pull you have. And, obviously, reconsider the importance of training&healthy food in your life. Already done? Don’t give up. Never. (Until September).

STAY HIGH. The waist? High, high, the highest since 1994. For jeans, shorts, and pencil skirts as well (a little bit longer just under the knee). Low-waist: our relationship has been great but now things simply don’t work. Forgive me, if you can.

BACKPACK All clutches can go on holidays (and all sort of micro-bags with them). The backback is  back and it is “ Accessorie’s King”. Alexa Chung is a big fan, like Cara Delevingne, who actually lives with her rucksack on and designed a great collection for Mulberry. A really cool way to say “I love you, backpack”, Cara.

SOCKS In your pumps. In your flats. Even in your sandals. Like a schoolgirl aged 4? Exactly. Or like Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City. So Fashion, so 90’s. It sounds definetly better.

We really thank our friend Maddi for her contribution to My Boy is Not a Hipster. Maddi is from Italy but is based now in London and is the London correspondent for Lost in Fashion. Grazie ancora amica!

Duden Park

Back in Brussels. This weekend we went for a walk to Duden Park, a beautiful park located in Saint Gilles near Forest Park. I never tire of repeating: Brussels is unexpectedly mild for this time with sunny and bright winter days. Days are getting longer, and we can enjoy wonderful sunsets and play with the shadow.

Ávila, a trip to the Middle Age

Last weekend I went back to Spain and visited a small wonderful and not enough well-known Spanish town: Ávila. This walled town is a journey in the History of Spain. Strolling through the streets allows you to imagine how life was supposed to be in this city at the time of the Catholic Monarchs or Santa Teresa de Jesus. Therfore, it is not surprising that its medieval Old Town, in excellent conditions, was declared a World Heritage Site in 1985. If you are going to Ávila, you cannot miss to have a drink in the courtyard of the Palacio de los Velada, now turned into a cozy hotel!

Inma.

Paris cannot be grey even when the sky is overcast. After living a year in Paris, it was not until I came to Brussels when I learned the term "grisaille", so typical in Belgium to describe the grey light of a cloudy day. In Paris, lightness is everywhere. Even the pave and the buildings designed by Haussmann. Even the statues of neoclassical inspiration and increasingly unusable mailboxes. Just an unknown hidden under her red cherry fedora stands out from the boundless light of the most fascinating city in the world. Inma.

Blue Paris

I was lucky to go again to Paris this weekend - it is a city that I like all the more each time I go. This time I visited several places for the first time, such as the Musée d'Orsay and the Louvre (see the photos in Instagram); I went to the Printemps store (if you go, make sure to go to the top floor where you can eat under a breathtaking stained-glass cupula) and obviously checked out the famous designers (the collections of Chloé and Valentino were amazing!). In the Galerie de la Madeleine, in addition to some bars and shops, there is also the shop of Giambattista Valli (which you can see in the background of the last photo).
