El sweater de la abuela

 

Como me gustan los colores de otoño...amarillo, naranja, marrón, verde...y más si es un día de sol. Salimos a caminar por el parque de forest (el que queda muy cerquita de mi casa)y que mejor que un sweater bien abrigado, ese que llamamos el de la abuela. El mío lo encontré en uno de los negocios de segunda mano acá en Bruselas (Retro Paradise), me enamoré cuando lo ví y no paro de cansarme de usarlo. Lo combiné con mis jeans de H&M, abrigo de Sessún (que lo uso mucho tipo capa) y las botitas vintage que compré en Berlín hace ya algunos años. 


I really like fall colours!...Yellow, orange, brown, green ... and even better if it's a sunny day like last Saturday. We went for a walk in the park of forest (which is very close to my home) and what better than being wearing a warm sweater, like the one we call "granny sweater". I found mine in one of Brussels' second hand shops (Retro Paradise), I fell in love when I saw it and I can't stop wearing it. I combined it with my jeans from H&M, coat Sessún (I like to wear it as a cape) and vintage boots that I bought in Berlin some years ago.

Con este outfit damos por terminadas mis vacaciones por el sur de España de este verano. Pasaron volando, pero les saqué el máximo partido. Os muestro una falda midi con un precioso estampado de flores que encontré en una tienda de joyas vintage en Bruselas (un día prometemos hacer una lista de nuestras tiendas preferidas bruxelloises dónde encontrar prendas de segunda mano). Perfecta para salir a tomar algo antes de que se esconda el sol e incluso para ir a la oficina. Las sandalias son de Pull and Bear y el camiseta (un básico en mi armario) de Zara.

This is the last outfit I am showing from my (already long time ago finished) holidays in the south of Spain. Even if they happened too quickly, I enjoyed this time quite a lot. I share with you this lovely midi skirt with a beautiful floral print which I found in a vintage shop in Brussels ( I promise to make a list of our favorite second-hand shop in Brussels) . Perfect for going out to have some drinks before the sun goes down and even to go to the office. Sandals are from Pull and Bear and the tee-shirt (a basic in my closet) from Zara.

Sweet Home

Hace unos cuantos meses les mostré mi antiguo departamento, unos días antes de mudarme. Creo que ya es el momento de mostrarles el nuevo. El buen tiempo me animó a arreglar el balcón y a comprar unas plantas divinas. Aunque no soy muy buena jardinera, me he propuesto cuidar estas plantas como si fueran mis hijos. Y prometo cumplirlo. ¿Tienen algún consejo para darme?

A few months ago I showed you my old apartment before I moved. Now it's time to show you the new one. The good weather encouraged me to garnish the balcony and buy beautiful plants. Look what I found

Caminando por Bruselas nunca sabes qué te puedes encontrar. En una tarde soleada y cálida de primavera, mientras iba paseando por el serio barrio europeo me encontré con este peluche gigante! Sucio y abandonado por un niño/a que ya se cansó de jugar con él, el peluche recuperó esa tarde el brillo de los focos. Todos aquellos que pasaban a su lado lo fotografiaban, recibiendo más atención de la que la nunca había sido objeto. Moraleja: lo mejor está siempre por llegar!

Walking through Brussels you never know what you might find. While I was walking in the European district on a sunny and warm spring afternoon, I found this giant bear! Dirty and abandoned by a kid already tired of playing with it, the teddy bear recovered that afternoon the brightness of the lights. All those who passed next to him took pictures, and he received more attention than never. Moral: the best is always yet to come!

Sunset in Zadar

Bañada por los últimos rayos de sol de mi último atardecer en la bella Croacia. Zadar nos regaló esta luz amelocotonada y esta sinfonía de colores. Y hablo de música porque os estoy mostrando el Órgano marino de Zadar, un elemento arquitectónico / instrumento musical experimental, que produce música por medio del empuje de las olas y una serie de tubos situados por debajo de un gran conjunto de escalones de mármol. Esta maravilla fue diseñada por el arquitecto Nikola Bašić como parte del proyecto para rediseñar la nueva costa de la ciudad, situada al norte de Dalmacia.

Still reminding the last rays of sun on my last evening in the beautiful Croatia. Zadar gave us as a farewell gift a wonderful peachy light and colourful symphonies during the sunset. And I am talking about music because I'm on the Sea Organ of Zadar,  an architectural object and an experimental musical instrument which plays music by way of sea waves and tubes located underneath a set of large marble steps. This marvel was designed by the architect Nikola Bašić as part of the project to redesign the new coast of the town, in the North of Dalmatia.

In the English countryside

Mientras Inma celebraba la boda de su prima, yo estaba de visita en Inglaterra. Más precisamente en Pangbourne, un pueblo inglés a mitad de camino entre Londres y Oxford. Disfruté del buen tiempo y de los barbecue al aire libre.

While Inma was celebrating her cousin's wedding, I was visiting England. To be precise I stayed in Pangbourne, a small town between London and Oxford. I enjoyed the nice weather and the barbecues in the garden.

At the heart of Europe

 Esta entrada era inevitable. Por más que hemos tratado de obviar todo el tema de las instituciones europeas para no caer en el tópico, Bruselas es mundialmente famosa por ser el Washington de Europa, donde la política de más alto nivel toma decisiones que tendrán impacto sobre 500 millones de ciudadanos europeos. El Parlamento Europeo está en la Plaza de Luxemburgo, un lugar que se pone especialmente animado los jueves... la gente de Bruselas sabe de lo que hablo!

This post was inevitable. As much as we tried to ignore the issue of the European institutions to avoid falling into the topic, Brussels is worldwide famous as the Washington of Europe, where politicias take decisions that will impact about 500 million European citizens . The European Parliament is in Place du Luxembourg, a place which is particularly lively at Thursday ... people in Brussels know what I mean!
