En Toledo visitando a El Greco

La semana pasada me escapé a España y no me quise perder la exposición que la ciudad de Toledo le ha dedicado a El Greco con motivo de los 400 años de su muerte. Aunque el sol brillaba, el invierno ya apretaba en esta bonita ciudad del centro de España y nada mejor que las superposiciones que tanto adoro. Camisa jean vintage, jersey-vestido de H&M, bufanda multicolor de Adolfo Domínguez para dar vida al negro del abrigo y los leggings. Y para caminar en un día de turismo nada mejor que mis adorados botines que compré en Topshop cuando estuve en Dublín. Creo que se van a convertir en mi prenda fetiche de esta temporada.



Last week I travelled to Spain and I couldn't miss the chance to visit the exposition that Toledo has devoted to El Greco on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of his death. Although the sun was shining, the winter already arrived to this pretty town in the centre of Spain and nothing better to explore the city than an outfit with overlays. A vintage jean shirt, a long jersey from H&M,a beautiful colourful scarf by Adolfo Domínguez to give a little bit of light to the black coat and leggings. For walking in a day of sightseeing, nothing like my beloved boots I bought in Topshop in Dublin. I think it is going to become my favorite accessory this season.

Somontano, Aragón

Este fin de semana combiné senderismo en la Sierra de Guara con turismo enológico en la región del Somontano, ambas zonas en Huesca (España). Visité las bodegas Irius cuyo impresionante edificio recrea una mariposa. Tras mostrarnos todas las instalaciones, pasamos a hacer una cata profesional. Yo ya había hecho antes cuando visité bodegas en La Rioja, pero esta cata fue espectacular ;-) Recomendada!

This weekend I mixed hiking in the Sierra de Guara with wine tourism in the region of Somontano, both areas in Huesca (Spain). I visited Irius wineries whose impressive building recreates a butterfly. After visiting all the facilities, we made a professional tasting. I had already done it before when I visited wineries in La Rioja, but this tasting was spectacular ;-) All recommended!

Baden-Baden

Este fin de semana crucé la frontera y descendí por el río Rin hasta llegar a Karlsruhe, próximo a Frankfurt. Muy cerquita, en mitad de la Selva Negra, está la ciudad de Baden-Baden. Esta ciudad de ensueño, empezó a ser frecuentada por la burguesía europea durante el siglo XIX como un lugar de descanso. Surgieron grandes establecimientos termales (por lo que la ciudad es famosa), teatro, hipódromo y el casino, uno de los más lujosos del mundo. También aquí está uno de los últimos castillos habitados de Europa. En la famosa alameda de la ciudad llamada Lichtentaler Allee, se encuentra el Museum Frieder Burda, una reluciente joya en la corona de Baden-Baden. El edificio en sí mismo es sobresaliente: un museo con luz natural, diseñado por el famoso arquitecto neoyorquino, Richard Meier. La colección en el interior se compone de obras maestras: más de 500 pinturas, dibujos, esculturas y objetos, que muestran la historia del arte de los pasados 100 años.

This weekend I crossed the border and went down by the river Rhine to reach Karlsruhe, near Frankfurt. Very close, in the middle of the Black Forest, is the town of Baden-Baden. This city of dreams, began to be frequented by the European bourgeoisie in the nineteenth century as a place of rest. Emerged large spas (for what the city is famous), theater, race track and casino, one of the most luxurious in the world. Also here is one of the last inhabited castles in Europe. In the famous city mall called Lichtentaler Allee, is the Museum Frieder Burda, a shining jewel in the crown of Baden-Baden. The building itself is remarkable: a museum with natural light, designed by famed New York architect Richard Meier. The inside collection consists of masterpieces: more than 500 paintings, drawings, sculptures and objects that show the history of the art of the past 100 years.
