Wrapped in Plaid

De repente se vino el otoño en Bruselas y nada mejor que ponerse un poncho para abrigarse. Ya la vimos a Olivia Palermo y Cara Delevingne con sus ponchos mantas de Burberry Prorsum. Creo que será mi prenda "comodín" del otoño; solo hace falta ponerse unos jeans chupines/pitillos (los mios son de H&M) y unas botas abiertas (me las compré en mi último viaje a Génova en uno de mis negocio preferidos de zapatos - Mauro Leone). El poncho escocés es de Veritas, una marca Belga de accesorios. Por último la cartera de charol (que la tengo hace mil años) es de Clara Ibarguren.

Autumn has definitely arrived in Brussels and nothing better than wearing a poncho to keep warm. Olivia Palermo and Cara Delevingne have their Burberry Prorsum blanket poncho. I think this will be my joker for this fall; you only need to add some skinny jeans (mine are from H&M) and a pair of cut-out boots (I bought them in my recent trip to Genoa in one of my favourites shoe shoes - Mauro Leone). My plaid poncho is from Veritas, a Belgian brand of accessories. Finally, my leather bag (I have had it for years) is from an Argentinian brand Clara Ibarguren.

Hola a tod@s, primer post después de mi boda civil, habia prometido poder compartir las fotos esta semana pero tendremos que esperar para la próxima! 
Bruselas nos dio un último día de verano y elegi este look marino con una t-shirt de Petit-Bateau (para l@s que no la conocen es una marca francesa de niños pero que también tiene algunas cosas para adultos-a mi me encanta porque mezcla ese estilo super femenino y juvenil) y esta falda midi de H&M que parece hecha con tela de cortinas. Es la típica ropa que te ponés y que alguien te va a hacer un comentario. A mi me parece divina! A ustedes? Por último mis zapatitos de charol de Zara que dan un toque de color y que vienen perfectos para esos días que sabés que seguro va a llover.

Hi everyone, this is the first post after civil marriage and I know I had promised to share the photos this week but we'll have to wait until next week! Brussels gave us one last day of summer and I chose this look with a navy t-shirt from Petit-Bateau (for the ones who don't know it, it’s a French brand of children but also has some clothes for adults-I love it because it’s a mix of female and children style) and a midi skirt from H&M which seems made with fabric curtains. It is the typical clothing that you put on and surely someone will make a comment about it! Do you like it? Finally my patent leather shoes from Zara that give a touch of color and are perfect for those days that you know that is going to rain. The necklace is from & OtherStories and the jacket Ben Sherman. Meme.

Indian summer in October

Increíble, pero cierto! Octubre llegó a Bruselas con aires de verano. Volvimos a sacar los vestidos y faldas cuando ya pensábamos guardarlos hasta la próxima primavera. Aquí os muestro un vestido que me encanta, super fresquito y muy veraniego que compré en julio en una de mis tiendas vintage favoritas de Bruselas, ThinkTwice. Lo combino con un cárdigan azul klein y unas bailarinas nude de Zara. Las fotos fueron tomadas en un pasaje precioso del centro de Bruselas donde cada ventana contiene una frase de un artista surrealista.

Unbelievable but true! October arrived to Brussels with some summer taste. We took back dresses and skirts when we thought keep them until next spring in the wardrobe. Here I am wearing a dress that I love, super cool and very summery I bought in July in one of my favorite vintage shops in Brussels, ThinkTwice. I combine it with a blue klein cardigan and Zara nude dancers. The photos were taken in a beautiful passage from the center of Brussels where each window contains a phrase from a surrealist artist.

Este fin de semana inauguramos el verano en Bruselas. Ya sé que oficialmente todavía le queda un mes a la primavera, pero el calor que está haciendo estos días en la capital europea son propias de verano. A falta de playa, el domingo organizamos un picnic en el parque Cinquantenaire y tomamos el sol. Qué maravilla! Y es que con la piel morenita, ¿quién necesita maquillaje? Disfrutad del buen tiempo :)

This weekend we inaugurated the summer in Brussels. I know there is still a month until Spring, but the weather of this week is typical of the summertime. As we don't have beach, on Sunday we organized a picnic in the park Cinquantenaire and we enjoyed the sun. And when our skin is tanned, who needs make-up? Enjoy the good weather :)

Os presento un look relajado para una tarde de sábado sin más ocupación que "acariciar acera", como canta mi apreciado Drexler. El sol cada día se hace más perezoso y tardón en marcharse ( y más a partir de este domingo, que retrasamos la hora). Los fines de semana el barrio europeo se convierte en un remanso de paz y de tranquilidad, donde sólo los vecinos salimos a pasear por sus calles por el mero placer de pasear. Y, además, la primavera ya está entre nosotros.

Today I show you a relaxed outfit for a Saturday afternoon without any occupation except walking. The sun becomes lazier and tardy in leaving (remember we delay the time as of this Sunday). On weekends the European quartier becomes a haven of peace and tranquility where only the neighbors go out for a walk for the mere pleasure of enjoying the place. And besides, the spring is already here.

En pleno centro de Bruselas, te encuentras con este pedacito de Brujas. Detrás de la plaza donde se sitúan Les Halles de Saint-Géry, se halla escondido este conjunto de casas bajas unidas por un maravilloso patio adoquinado. Adentrarse en el patio es como un viaje en el tiempo.

Located in the centre of Brussels, you come across this kind of Bruges. Behind the square where Les Halles Saint-Gery are located, this set of low houses joined by a wonderful cobbled courtyard is hidden. Delving into the courtyard is like a trip back in time.

Les Halles de Saint-Géry

El pasado domingo Les Halles de Saint-Gery se puso sus mejores galas para acoger su tradicional vintage market, que se celebra el primer domingo de cada mes. Saint-Gery es un edificio magnífico con una bonita historia por contar. Durante muchos siglos, fue una iglesia gótica que albergaba las reliquias de los santos de la ciudad, pero fue demolida en 1798. Inmendiatamente después, el espacio se acondicionó con una plaza presidida por una gran fuente, que todavía se puede encontrar en la actualidad. En 1881, bajo la dirección del arquitecto Vanderheggen, se construyó un edificio modernista, donde se situó el mercado de la ciudad hasta 1977. Desde 1999, Les Halles de Saint-Gery es un centro de información turística de la ciudad de Bruselas, además de un agradable café y una divertida discoteca. Un lugar imprescindible para todo visitante!

Last Sunday Les Halles Saint-Géry put its finest outfit to host the traditional vintage market, every first Sunday of each month. Saint-Gery is a magnificent building with a nice story to tell. For many centuries, it was a Gothic church that housed the relics of the saints of the city, but was demolished in 1798. Afterwards it was square dominated by a large fountain, which is still today in the same place. Under the direction of architect Vanderheggen, a modernist building, where the city market stood until 1977, was built. Since 1999, Les Halles Saint-Gery is a tourist information center in the city of Brussels, as well as a nice coffee and a fun nightclub. A must place for all visitors!

De Markten

Una de las cosas que más me divierten de Bruselas es lo diferente que son los belgas valones y los flamencos. Los podrás distinguir antes de escucharles hablar. Además de los rasgos físicos, se mueven por ambientes muy diferentes. De Markten es uno de esos lugares. Este centro cultural / bar /restaurante es uno de los puntos de encuentro por excelencia de la comunidad flamenca en Bruselas. Cercano a la plaza Ste Catherine, De Markten ofrece una programación cultural muy variada que va desde workshops a exposiciones de arte pasando por obras de teatro. No te lo pierdas si estás en Bruselas!

Differences between Belgian Walloons and Flemings are much bigger than I thought before living in this country. You can observe these differences even before they start to speak. In addition to the physical traits, they use to go out in different environments. De Markten is one of those places. This cultural centre / bar / restaurant is one of the meeting point par excellence for the Flemish community in Brussels. Close to Ste Catherine square, De Markten has a varied cultural program (workshops, art exhibition, theatre plays). Do not miss it if you're in Brussels!

Duden Park

De vuelta en Bruselas. Este finde fuimos a pasear a Duden Park, un bellísimo parque situado en Saint Gilles cerca de Forest Park. No me canso de repetirlo: Bruselas nos está regalando un invierno inesperadamente suave con jornadas soleadas y luminosas. Los días, cada vez más largos, despiden al sol con estas maravillosas puestas y juegos de sombras.

Back in Brussels. This weekend we went for a walk to Duden Park, a beautiful park located in Saint Gilles near Forest Park. I never tire of repeating: Brussels is unexpectedly mild for this time with sunny and bright winter days. Days are getting longer, and we can enjoy wonderful sunsets and play with the shadow.

Winter is here!

La próxima semana daremos la bienvenida al invierno. Adiós a la cálida gama crómatica que va del mostaza al chocolate pasando por el granate del otoño para saludar al blanco más puro que acompaña al invierno. Éste ha sido un otoño atípico en Bruselas. Más caluroso de lo normal, con mañanas soleadas y escasas lluvias. Pero la ciudad ya huele a Navidad y con ella llegará el frío intenso y los primeros copos de nieve, que ya estamos esperando.

Winter will be here already next week. We will say goodbye to the warm color range of the Autumn that goes from mustard to chocolate and garnet to greet the purest white that always accompanies Winter. This has been an unusual Fall in Brussels. Warmer than normal, with sunny mornings and little rain. But the town is already celebrating Christmas time and waiting for the intense cold and the first flakes of snow.
