Out of place

Siempre me gustó lo que está fuera de lugar. Aquello que te llama la atención no por lo que es, sino por el lugar en el que está situado. Algo así como una montura de gafas incrustada en el adoquín de una calle tranquila del barrio europeo de Bruselas. La bauticé como "la calle de las gafas en el suelo", pero lo cierto es que se trata de la Avenida Michel-Angelo, a quien curiosamente tan bien se le dio sacar a las cosas de su lugar tradicional. Asimismo, unos leggins de vinilo muy rockeros pueden dar lugar a un outfit sobrio y elegante. Disfrutad del fin de semana estéis donde estéis.

I love what is out of place. Things that catches your eye not because what they are, but because the place in which they are placed. Something like an eyeglass frame embedded in a cobblestone of a quite street in the European district of Brussels. I baptized it as the street of the glasses on the floor, but the truth is that this is the Avenue Michel-Angelo, who curiously did know so well to get things out from their traditional place. Also, a pair of rocker vinyl leggings can take part of a simple and elegant outfit. Enjoy the weekend wherever you are being.

Les Marolles

Les Marolles es sin duda alguna el barrio bohemio-chic por excelencia de Bruselas. El mercado de pulgas de la Place jeu de Balle vertebra una zona florecida de tiendas vintage y de jóvenes creadores, anticuarios y tiendas de diseño vanguardista, restaurantes de comida tradicional belga y de sofisticada nouvelle cuisine. Desde hace unos meses, el antiguo cuartel de bomberos que preside la plaza fue reconvertido en galerías de arte y restaurantes, como el PIN-PON, que tiene unas vistas espectaculares.

Les Marolles is undoubtedly the most bohemian-chic neighbourhood in Brussels. The flea market is in the square jeu de Balle is the center of an area when it's possible to find vintage and young designers stores, antique and modern design shops, traditional Belgian food and sophisticated nouvelle cuisine restaurants. A few months ago, the old fire station that dominates the square was turned into an amazing place with art galleries and restaurants, as PIN-PON, which has spectacular views over the square.

Drapiers de Londres

Donde ahora hay casas art nouveau, negocios pintorescos y muffin shops en el barrio de St.Gilles, antes habia fábricas, bodegas y talleres. Incluso unos londoninenses que tenían una compañia textil, los llamados "Drapiers de Londres"... En este taller se confeccionaban las telas y tapicerías que usaban las clases burguesas crecientes de Bruselas de fin de siglo. Ahora la fábrica se ha transformado en lofts y lo ùnico que parece quedar de la antigua fábrica es el muro epónimo y una puerta para las carrozas de antaño.

St.Gilles, now a land of art nouveau houses, picturesque shops and muffin bars, was before a neighbourhood of factories, warehouses and workshops. Including a gang of Londoners who ran a textile company, the “Drapiers de Londres”... In that workshop were made the fabrics and cloths for Brussels' growing fin de siecle Bourgeoisie. But now the warehouse has been converted into lofts and all that remains of the old factory is an eponymous wall and a door for carriages of yonder-year...

Place de Jamblinne de Meux

La primavera nos regaló finalmente un día de sol, luz y calor y todos salimos a la calle para cargarnos de energía. Mientras dábamos un paseo nos topamos con la place Jamblinne de Meux, una bonita y soleada plaza bordada de tilos y decorada con una impresionante fuente de inspiración industrial. Y es que Bélgica nunca ha querido ocultar su pasado glorioso vinculado al mundo de la industria pesada, lo que se puede percibir en un sinnúmero de construcciones que salpican la geografía belga.

Spring finally gave us a day of sun, light and heat and we all went outside to recharge our batteries. While having a walk, we bumped into the place Jamblinne Meux, a lovely sunny square with beautiful lime trees and decorated with an industry inspired fountain. Belgium has therefore never tried to hide its glorious past linked to the world of heavy industry, which can be seen in a number of buildings around the country.

Square Ambiorix

La plaza de Ambiorix se encuentra en el barrio Europeo, justo detrás de las instituciones Europeas. Cuando la primavera llega, se llena de tulipanes de distintos colores. 
 Los enteritos de jean o petos (en Español) son el must de la temporada, empiecen a sacarlos de sus armarios!

The Square Ambiorix is situated in the European neighborhood, just behind the European institutions. When spring arrives, it becomes full of tulips from a variety of colors. 
The jeans jumpsuits are a must of this season, so lets start to bring them out from your closets!
